HAIRSPRAY- Florida Studio Theatre

Seen as Tracy Turnblad in Florida Studio Theatre's production of Hairspray, Nov. 12th- Jan. 24th, 2015.

"Smiles can be catching. And Brooke Shapiro has an infectious smile that makes you quickly fall for her outsider character Tracy Turnblad...Shapiro also rarely stops moving and her dancing matches that joyous look on her face...Shapiro is the heart of Richard Stafford’s colorful production.- Jay Handelman, Sarasota Herald-Tribune

"Brooke Shapiro dominates the proceedings as Tracy. Although many teenage girls fantasize about playing the role, few can dance, dance, and dance some more for 2-1/2 hours and still be able to belt most of score. Ms. Shapiro does all this and more. I have seen at least one Tracy in a professional production who was nowhere near as good as this." -  William S. Oser, talkinbroadway.com

HAIRSPRAY- ZACH Theatre

Seen as Tracy Turnblad at the ZACH Theatre in Austin, Texas. June 16th- Aug. 28th 2011

"Brooke Shapiro as Tracy Turnblad is a cheerleader of an actress who belts every note from the top of the show til the end and, thankfully, is able to back up the show’s claims that this white girl really can dance." - Ralphie Hardesty, Austinist

"Brooke Shapiro is endearing and earnest from beginning to end as Tracy Turnblad, the plus-size teen with the patented musical song and dance dream. Shapiro’s diminutive height sells her as a teen better than her Broadway and Hollywood predecessors, and she effortlessly carries the weight of appearing in virtually every scene of this show." - Michael Graupmann, Culture Map Austin

"Brooke Shapiro springs up in bed beaming such that the sun has to shield its eyes – we not only embrace her enthusiasm for all this urban blight, we want a few friendly neighborhood perverts of our own." - Robert Faires, The Austin Chronicle

HAIRSPRAY- Gateway Playhouse

Seen as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray at The Gateway Playhouse in Patchogue, NY. July 7th - 31st 2010

"Young Brooke Shapiro as Tracy Turnblad, the plumpish teen who aches to dance on "The Corny Collins Show," a local "American Bandstand," hits all the right notes - lyrical and comical." - Steve Parks, Newsday

"Brooke Shapiro, a freshman at the Hartt school making her regional theater debut as Tracy Turnblad. She’s a dynamite performer, an arresting presence that lends heart and hardiness to the role, launching the proceedings with “Good Morning Baltimore,” and powering it to the last syllable of the finale." - Lee Davis, Southampton Press
